According to the authors, working adults have a fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to be resilient. Yes, resilience involves working hard, but it also requires one to stop, recover, and then begin the hard work again. Recovery is key to maintaining good health, but also preventing lost productivity. To build resilience, you need to be willing to stop. This means spending some time away from your phone, eating lunch away from your desk, and actually using your vacation time. Read More

How women can Develop - and Promote- Their Personal Brand

https://www.womenleadersintravel.com/articles/how-women-can-develop-and-promote-their-personal-brand7589286

https://www.womenleadersintravel.com/articles/how-women-can-develop-and-promote-their-personal-brand7589286#comments

Uncategorized

How Women Can Develop - and Promote- Their Personal Brand We all know developing a personal brand is valuable. It helps others see your true talents, so you’re more likely to be tapped for relevant and interesting assignments — and it helps you stand out in a field of competitors. But personal branding has some unique challenges for female professionals. Gender norms presume that women should be agreeable and nurturing, and when they violate these norms through self-promotion and decisiveness, they’re often penalized for that behavior in a way that men wouldn’t be. How can women navigate this conundrum? First, network both inside and outside your organization, so you have a diverse set of people who can step up on your behalf. Next, control your narrative by developing a clear and concise elevator pitch. Finally, share your ideas publicly and display your expertise through content creation. Read More.

Books every leader should know about

https://www.womenleadersintravel.com/articles/books-every-leader-should-know-about

https://www.womenleadersintravel.com/articles/books-every-leader-should-know-about#comments

Uncategorized

Business Insider - 17 books on how to build high-performing, inclusive cultures that every business leader should read - Read More [...]

Business Insider - 17 books on how to build high-performing, inclusive cultures that every business leader should read - Read More

Webinar - WOMEN IN HOSPITALITY AND TRAVEL Opportunities, Challenges, and Progress

https://www.womenleadersintravel.com/articles/webinar-women-in-hospitality-and-travel-opportunities-challenges-and-progress

https://www.womenleadersintravel.com/articles/webinar-women-in-hospitality-and-travel-opportunities-challenges-and-progress#comments

Uncategorized

Sign up for the virtual session: Thursday, September 30th 1:30 EDTWomen make up 50% of the workforce in hospitality and travel yet only 12% of leadership positions.
