Elevating Your Networking Skills
Last year at Accelerate we explored “How Women Rise“and how to break the 12 habits that hold you back. In this module, we will build skills to eliminate your reluctance to claim your achievements and enable you to enlist allies from day 1. In this session you will:
Learn how to target and build your network
Meet new people and practice networking skills
Assess and reflect on your networking style
Begin to find a mentor or meet someone that can solve a business problem or need
Create and practice a memorable introduction
Identify the impact of body language & tone
To sustain high performance leaders need to nurture their own well-being. We’ll assess how we manage our energy, and explore how to create space amid daily pressures. Participants will learn simple tools to better manage their own – and their teams’ – emotional, physical mental and spiritual resources.
Change – good or bad – can be unsettling and undermine performance. We’ll talk through common individual, team and organizational responses to change – and how to manage this. We’ll share techniques to cultivate greater trust, safety and resilience – so that leaders can help their teams adapt and thrive, come what may.
During this session, you'll focus on the skills you need to engage in effective conversations and build stronger relationships. By practicing in small groups, you will apply simple techniques to engage in deeper dialogue to get better results and manage conflict. Practice applying techniques to effectively ask questions, listen, and suspend judgment during conversations in order to understand the other party’s perspective. You will also build awareness of the impact that your mind, body, and voice has on your professional presence and relationship interactions. The action plan that you develop during the session will help to focus your development areas, leverage your strengths and track your progress as you continue to develop these skills on the job.
As leaders, we experience tension when our values are at odds with others’ or within ourselves. We’ll use several frameworks and interactive exercises to develop our techniques for creative resolution to the dilemmas that are an inevitable part of life.
